Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What the assessment measures, what you receive, and what is optional.

Do I need to be in therapy to use the assessment?
No. You can use your results entirely on your own, or bring them into therapy, coaching, or another growth-focused relationship. No therapy, coaching, or professional appointment is required to purchase or use the assessment.
What does the assessment measure?
Two things: your 6 Sides — how six essential sides of you work together, which are well-developed, and which may be carrying too much — and your Instinctual Drive, six capacities: Risk Tolerance, Self-Trust, Standing Your Ground, Free to Be Me, Follow Your Bliss, and Low Self-Consciousness.
Is this a personality test?
No. A personality test asks what kind of person you are. This assessment asks where you are right now, what may be getting in your way, and what to strengthen next. Your results are a working growth map, not a permanent label.
What is included in the $49 price?
Both personalized readouts, your focused growth areas, growth resources connected to your results, and one future retest.
Which tools are free?
Every educational page on this site is free: The 6 Sides, Instinctual Drive, The Six Instincts, The Mountain, and What Is the Wilder Method? The free resources page is also open to everyone.
What costs extra?
Books, workbooks, guides, and any professional services such as therapy or coaching are optional and purchased separately. They are never required to use your results.
Do my results recommend specific tools?
Your readouts highlight focused growth areas, and the educational guides and resources on this site are organized around those capacities. Recommendations depend on your own results; not everyone receives the same focus areas.
How do I receive my readouts?
Both readouts are delivered by email to the address you provide at checkout.
How does the retest work?
Your price includes one additional full assessment. Take it again after a period of focused personal-growth work and compare your new results with your original baseline.
Is this a clinical assessment or a diagnosis?
No. The Wilder Method Assessment is an educational and personal-development tool. It is not a clinical diagnosis, psychological evaluation, or substitute for individualized care from a qualified healthcare professional.
